Decks & Pergolas in Central Texas
Whether you want a deck for entertaining or a pergola for shade and structure, we build them solid, level, and built to last in the Texas climate.
Decks & Pergolas done right
Decks and pergolas live outside in tough conditions, so the build quality matters. We use materials suited to the climate, set proper footings, and frame them to stay solid and level for years.
We'll help you choose between cedar and composite and design something that fits your yard and how you want to use it.

Decks & Pergolas: common questions
What types of decks and pergolas do you build?+
Custom decks in cedar or composite, single- and multi-level designs, plus pergolas and shade structures — often combined with railings, built-in seating, and lighting.
What's the difference between a deck, a pergola, and a pavilion?+
A deck is a raised floor surface; a pergola is an open overhead structure with slats for partial shade; a pavilion has a solid roof for full shade and rain protection. Many backyards combine them — we'll help you decide.
Do decks or pergolas require permits or HOA approval?+
It depends on size, height, and your city, and many Central Texas neighborhoods require HOA approval for exterior structures. We'll handle any permitting and HOA documentation that applies.
What materials hold up best outdoors here?+
Cedar offers a classic look at a lower upfront cost; composite costs more but needs almost no maintenance and handles our sun well. We'll walk you through the trade-offs for your budget.
Can you build a deck over an existing patio or a sloped yard?+
Often, yes. We'll check footings and grade — decks are well suited to uneven or sloped yards, and we can sometimes build over an existing slab where it makes sense.
Can a pergola provide full shade?+
On its own, a pergola gives partial shade through its slats. We can increase coverage with tighter slats, a shade canopy, or by combining it with a solid-roof section if you want more protection.
Can you add lighting, fans, or privacy features?+
Yes — lighting, fans, privacy screens, and built-in seating are all popular. We plan for any electrical during the build so it's done cleanly and safely.
